I have tried many seed blends as I have much more shade now due to maturing tree. Creeping red festue. For fast fill in annual rye and blue grass has worked for me. You can reseed in autumn or early spring. After reseeding I layer clean straw over seeds. The straw is as important as quality seeds. Make sure straw is fresh and dry.
