I plant everything and take care of everything…
Gardening is a lot of work. But it is all worth it in the end.

I do my own gardening. I let a company take care of the lawn. Even when I owned my pond building business, I didn’t mow my own lawn. It’s more fun now that I am retired to do my own garden.

I not only take care of my own gardens, I created and care for four community gardens - work, work, work, fun, fun, fun. RScott

I have a garden, and do my own gardening with a lot of help from Mother Nature. Meaning my garden is not as pristine and regimented as some of the neighbouring gardens. Things get done when time, health and the weather permits.

I do my own, my friends’, and my mother’s!

Though, I will admit, my husband does the lawn. I do not. I love a nice lawn, just not enough to hold my interest long enough to do anything about it. If it weren’t for him, I’d have beautiful garden beds and brown, dead grass. LOL

I do it myself, I don’t have access to a gardener, wish I did, I **** pulling weeds. Its enjoyable to make your own garden, it is almost like meditating.

MY COMPANY HAS PUT IN MANY GARDENS, AND AT FIRST THE CLIENTS TAKE CARE OF THEM, BUT AFTER A YEAR OR TWO, I GET THE GARDEN BACK TO MANAGE.AFTER THE WEEDS START TO OVER POWER THEM.

I have always done my own. However I have had to pay someone a couple of time when my husband was ill and I had to take over his duties. Gardening is my way of releasing my frustation and getting back to nature. Nothing like getting your hands in the dirt when you are frustrated!! Really!!

KJean 08.15.08 at 6:06 am

I take care of my own gardens.
It’s great exercise - anyone who thinks gardening is a low energy activity hasn’t worked in My yard!
If you do it yourself, you will be more aware of how the plants are doing where they are, what can be moved, etc. If someone else does it, you like looking at it but you are invested in it and it just becomes a backdrop. It’s all about how much time you have, or money if you want to pay someone to do it for you.

Lawn service?
Yeah…sure …that is what we call our 2 teenagers.
As far as our garden…we got 2 acre garden and 5 acre yard and orchard. We do all the work here and we LOVE it. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Nothing more satisfying than coming in all sweaty, dirt plastering your clothes, hands hurting from too much hoeing or weeding and your back aching from bending over.
I can’t wait for winter to be over just to get dirty.

hopflower 08.17.08 at 9:12 am

Yes, indeed. I do it all.

Many people enjoy doing their own gardens and get a lot of satisfaction from it. But start small so you won’t burn out.

shedahudda 08.20.08 at 11:43 am

I do it myself. Actually because of the way I garden I wouldn’t trust a service to diffferentiate between what I want to stay and what is a weed.
i have a very cottage garden kind of look nd love it and get lots of compliments on it. But I do let things self seed

My husband and I do the yard work and flower gardens. It’s relaxing out in the yard, away from telephones, people, etc. The only times I don’t like it is when our mosquitoes get wicked!

cheri 08.23.08 at 10:01 am

No, we have a gardener who comes in on Saturdays

Spectre 08.26.08 at 4:44 pm

Why have a garden if you dont do it yourself
Playing in the dirt is the most effective treatment for everyday stress
You can honestly say ‘I did this”
