That is a difficult question due to the fact that we don’t know the area or the condition of the grounds.
If you are an assistant to the groundskeeper, you should be ok no matter what. if you have a good job history and a clean record, and are willing to learn, you will be in better shape than most!
They would ask you for college qualifications and your previous work. If you cannot provide them with references, I doubt you will get the job. Sorry!
Did they say no experience necessary?
Rake for raking leaves etc. Shovel for digging, beyond that your supervisor will teach you.
Well, you’ll probably have to try to impress them with your willingness to learn, your good work ethic and your previous experience mowing lawns. You will need to dig, rake, hoe, plant and tend flower borders, pick up trash to keep the site clean, prune bushes and trees, perhaps even cut tree limbs into firewood.
If you have any experience operating machinery, mention that on your job interview; if you have a drivers licence mention that because some jobs require driving to locations to water flower tubs, etc. Impress them with your physical strength if you can lift 50-100 lbs. because you will have to tote some heavy bags of fertilizer and also rocks and stones from time to time.
Let them know that you believe you can do the job, and that you like to work outdoors. Then listen carefully to instructions and follow them right; read up on things you have to be responsible for; ask questions and keep up a positive attitude.
All the Best!
